Grammarly requires your permission to access what you are writing and aesthetically suggests when it is working. I still advise you disable Grammarly for such sites in case they are not configured correctly, as well as for things like delicate legal documents.
Grammarly’s Apps
I set up the Grammarly desktop app on my Windows 10 maker and had no problems signing in to my account. The app looks excellent and the layout is extremely functional; I particularly like the side panel’s dark accents and minimalist icons. Users can pick between making up text directly in an editor and importing an existing document.
If you just copy and paste text from a Word file into the Grammarly app, Grammarly says it only keeps vibrant and italic format, links, headers, and lists. In testing, I discovered that it also kept highlighted text. If you want to keep the full format of the text (including paragraph spacing), use the import tool to add the document. You will not see any formatted text while you operate in the Grammarly editor, but the document keeps all of the initial format whenever you export it.
Given that the editor now luckily includes format tools such as for bold, italics, underlines, headings, links, and lists (both bulleted and numbered), you might simply compose straight in the Grammarly app. It’s likely easier to keep composing in Word or Google Docs and utilize the devoted Grammarly tools for those platforms. However, I still use Grammarly regularly to check whatever I publish on this blog. I have a pretty good grasp on grammar and English rules already, but it’s surprising how typos and little mistakes can creep into anybody’s writing.
